Frequently Asked Questions
At Diamond Hill Dental, we are always happy to answer our patients’ questions about oral healthcare and help them feel more confident when pursuing desired treatment. For added convenience, our team has compiled several of our most popular FAQs and their respective answers below. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly here in Cumberland, RI if you’re still not seeing the information you need:
Do you see children?
Yes! Diamond Hill Dental is proud to be a family-friendly practice that accommodates all ages. We know very well that the experiences a child has at the dentist’s office from a young age can influence how they feel about oral healthcare for the rest of their lives – that’s why our dentists and team members work so hard to make these appointments as positive and comfortable as possible. Several kid-friendly services are available upon request, and parents can count on a gentle, patient touch throughout each visit.
Can you help me improve the way my smile looks?
Absolutely. Our Cumberland practice offers several cosmetic dentistry services that are specifically designed to elevate the appearance of teeth and erase common imperfections like stains and chips. Porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, metal-free restorative work, and other options can be combined into the ideal smile makeover plan for each patient’s unique goals and preferences – all you have to do is schedule a consultation today to get started.
How long will it take to get a new dental crown?
Not as long as you think! At Diamond Hill Dental, we’re proud to have streamlined the restorative process without sacrificing the reliable quality our patients deserve with the help of CEREC technology. Now, the design, milling, and placement of a brand-new, customized dental crown only requires one appointment of the patient’s time – no temporaries required.
Why are dental implants the best way to replace missing teeth?
Unlike more traditional services, dental implants faithfully replicate every single component of a natural tooth, including the root that’s entirely hidden beneath the gum tissue. With a new, functioning root in place, oral health is better preserved, and the new “tooth” is virtually indistinguishable from the original version in look, feel, and function too. We work with trusted oral surgeons in the Cumberland area to provide fast, high-quality implant restoration in just one visit.
My gum tissue looks very red and puffy. Should I be worried?
Healthy gum tissue should be coral pink in color – if it’s not, a dangerous infection may be present. Gum disease (also known as periodontal disease) can wreak havoc on a person’s health and even threaten their natural teeth if it’s left untreated for too long. At Diamond Hill Dental, we can get rid of harmful bacteria and revitalize oral health with a dedicated deep cleaning that’s known as scaling and root planing.
Do you see dental emergencies?
Yes. Our goal is to accommodate cases of urgent dental injures and/or pain as soon as possible, providing much-needed relief and restorative solutions on a quick timeframe – even on the same day as your initial call, in some cases. Our dentists never want to leave patients (new and reoccurring alike) waiting in vain!
Do you take dental insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with several major PPO providers, including Delta, Metlife, and many other insurance companies. If you’d like to learn more about your financial options, please visit our new patients page.
I don’t have dental insurance. What are my payment options?
Diamond Hill Dental is happy to now offer an in-office savings plan for patients and families who aren’t currently covered by insurance! For a flat yearly fee, you will have access to important preventive care and valuable discounts on virtually all other dental treatments, including purely cosmetic work. Affordable financing is also available upon request – please ask our front desk team for more information.
