To give your child a little extra cavity protection while they are still learning to brush, dental sealants are an excellent option. We simply apply a liquid, plastic-based substance to the teeth, and it quickly hardens into an invisible barrier that harmful plaque and bacteria cannot penetrate. We typically only place them on the back teeth because they are the most susceptible to cavities. They are also very effective for adults who are prone to developing decay!
